Ashley Elizabeth Beard was born on June 10, 2005 in Virginia, Minnesota. She was brought home by Tim, Wendy, and Emily Beard for adoption on October 12, 2005. Ashley was baptized as an infant at Faith Presbyterian Church, Minnetonka, Minnesota, and actively attended events there. At preschool age, she also attended St. Louis Park ECSE, dance classes, gymnastics, other VBS’s, and St. Louis Park nature center camps. Ashley attended New Hope Church K-11, Beacon Academy K-1, and Hopkins School District grades 2-11. She was active in gymnastics, AWANA, Sunday School, VBS, and choir in her younger years. She loved God, people and animals, movies, stories, games, music, dancing, gymnastics, laughing at silliness, holidays, going on vacations, and attending school, Camp Friendship, and Crescent Cove. Her favorite colors were Black and Yellow, her school colors. For her Make-A-Wish she asked for A trip to Hawaii to see a real palace for royalty, dolphins, and most of all, a volcano!
Ashley was beloved by all who knew her for her sunny disposition, smile, laugh, spunk, sense of humor, caring heart, perseverance and effort through everything she tried to do that was hard, and her gracious relinquishing what and when she needed to relinquish. She probably first developed Juvenile Huntington’s Disease around 7 years old in 2012. She was diagnosed in November 2016 at the age of 11.
She passed away peacefully in her sleep early February 17, 2023 from Juvenile Huntington’s Disease, and received into heaven.
The family is grateful to those who have supported her and them throughout her life, especially Carlishaw Knox, Ashley’s staff at Hopkins High School, Crescent Cove staff and volunteers, Camp Frienship staff, Joyous Care staff, various doctors and therapists, and members of New Hope Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.
